Camden-based 365 finance, an award-winning SME lender in the UK, celebrates achieving Carbon Neutral certification after working with Carbon Neutral Britain to become independently verified.

Certification for 365 finance has been awarded on the basis of Carbon Neutral Britain’s standards in measuring, calculating and carbon offsetting organisational carbon emissions with Scope 1, 2 and 3 GHG emissions – which fall under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change.

The funder of small to medium sized businesses across the UK has reached carbon offsetting of 46.87 tonnes CO2e, via the Woodland Fund Portfolio of verified carbon offsetting projects.

In the UK, businesses account for more than 85% of total greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, underlining the importance of organisations taking action.

365 finance, a responsible lender, embarked on this project and introduced policies towards reducing waste and emissions in order to be fully environmentally aware and to reduce the company’s impact on the climate. In addition, the provider of revenue-based finance has committed to Paris-aligned Net Zero goals, including decreasing 365 finance’s overall emissions by 50% by 2027.

Carbon reduction initiatives for the business include using renewable energy, reducing work travel, implementing electric vehicle schemes, reducing overall electricity consumption, and reducing use of ‘last mile’ delivery services.

Warren Abbey, 365 finance CEO, commented, “We are committed to environmental stewardship and this has been an extremely important project for us, as we feel it’s our responsibility to measure, calculate, report and respond to our organisation’s emissions in a highly ethical manner.

“We want to demonstrate what is possible, because we work with so many SMEs in the UK and should absolutely be setting an example.”

James Poynter, Director at Carbon Neutral Britain, said, “We are delighted to continue our partnership with 365 finance to help identify and offset their environmental impact.”
